Pullbox Preview: The Misadventures of Clark & Jefferson #2

Posted by Eric on November 7th, 2007

The Misadventures of Clark & Jefferson #2 (Ape Entertainment - Carvajal / Borstel) - Jay Carvajal (Zero Hunters) comes through again in this sci-fi / western / comedy / action story (whew… they pack a whole lot into one series). The story picks up with Sheriff Clark and Deputy Jefferson trying to makes heads or tails out of the “visitors from the skies” that are killing settlers and cattle. Our two flawed arch-type heroes make their way to a neighboring reinforced military camp who know all about the attacks and are getting ready to defend themselves. Add into the mix a comparison of “old west” vs modern euphemisms, a sassy buxom romantic interest (every western need one of those) and a bit of racial tension, the result is a blast! The comic reads like a great Bruce Campbell flick (who doesn’t remember Brisco County Jr.?), high action intermixed with great shtick. The story moves along at a piece that makes you feel like you watching a good action movie… as I told the author this property is just screaming to have a TV show / movie made out of it. Ape Entertainment is making it’s move with some really great titles coming! Like the pic says, issue two of four ships in December… put this on your list!

editor note: sorry about the wrong publisher before - changed 11/8
